I just came back from the National English Honor Society’s ceremony where my youngest daughter, last year’s inductee, read one of her poems. Like many mothers I too have encouraged my kids to do their best and try to do well in school. Luckily, they are very concerned about getting good grades and maintaining a good average. However, their love of reading and their interest in books makes me especially happy. Tonight as my daughter stood behind the podium and read her beautiful poem to the audience I was filled with joy that at the young age of sixteen she is endowed with terms and expressions beyond her years. With meticulously chosen words she has the ability to make beautiful poetry. And that makes me very happy and prouder than scoring a 100 on an exam.Monday, February 9, 2009

Congratulations!
This is a big accomplishment. It's so important for a young woman to find herself and her path in her own way.
Thanks Daisy jan. Seeing kids shine is the greatest experience. It is wonderful to see young women have a sense of who they are and also have an idea of what they want to do with their lives. I am all for encouraging them to believe in themselves and stand on their own two feet.
Take care
