Facebook Challenged

I admit it, I’m Facebook challenged. I joined facebook because of one of my brother’s invitation last month, but to this day I can’t figure it out and I still don’t get it. I wonder if I’m the only one who feels this way. Downloading pictures, commenting and sending emails to someone seems too complicated on facebook. If I decide to upload a picture I have to ask my youngest daughter Mariam to do it for me.

Speaking of my daughters, I told them that I wanted to send them invitations and become their friends on facebook. Sara didn’t say anything and kept quiet while Mariam bluntly said she would ignore the invitation if she sees it!

I tell them that I just want to take a quick look at their page, just a glimpse, that’s all. I am curious to know who these 700 hundred something friends are. This is just about being curious. They worry that I might say who is this friend and what’s that comment and what are these late night chit chats. I do understand what they‘re saying, that they need their space and all of that. But I think that “Iranian Mother” quality is still somewhere deep within me. To them I am a weird mom with two blogs, a facebook account and a flickr account in the making.

I have tried to find my high school friends on facebook and couldn’t find any of them. None of my very close friends from college are on facebook. The rest I can’t find. I searched for some of my past coworkers, they too aren’t there either.

So for now I am content with my blogging. This place is like home for me. I know where things are, I know what to do, how to upload a photo, write and publish. It is very simple and easy. This is my cup of tea.
